Onkyo has introduced their unique netbook, called Transformable DX (DX1007A5), equipped with two displays.

It is similar novelties solutions used in the recently received in the sale of Kohjinsha DZ netbook, screens are hiding each other, and a special mount allows it to rotate the top cover around the vertical axis.

Toshiba has been announcing LCD TVs based on the Cell processor (which is a key element in the PS3, for instance) for quite some time now, but now we finally have an official press release [JP] revealing a date and price for the first model. The TV is called Cell REGZA 55X1, it’s going to be released this Thursday (in Japan) and it will cost a lot: $11,230.

ViewSonic Corp. has announced two new widescreen LCD monitors in the United States, called ViewSonic VX1932wm-LED and VA705b.

New ViewSonic VX1932wm-LED and VA705b are positioned as an excellent choice for home, office and educational institutions. Their LED monitors meet the strict standards of the Energy Star 5.0 standard, which guarantees low energy consumption.

LG Electronics has announced their new LCD TV that is 45mm thickness, called LG SL8000 on Russia’s market.

LG SL8000 is eliminating the gap between the screen and the frame in the new panel using the technology of film lamination. According to the manufacturer, the boundary between these elements of the TV almost is not visible. Most parts of the exterior devices have the same black color.

ViewSonic Corp. today has announced a pair of high quality IPS LCD monitors, called VP2365wb and VP2655wb. Both ViewSonic IPS LCD monitors are based on IPS matrix, providing 118% coverage of NTSC wide color gamut and viewing angles of 178 degrees.

The new LG product is a 23-inch 3D monitor LCD panel for use with shutter glasses that delivers full HD resolution. It offers picture quality that is almost twice as crisp as HD 3D displays currently available in the market.

Back in September of this year, ASUS had announced the launch of a new range of rather sexy LCD monitors called the Designo MS. That range has now been further upgraded to the LS series with the latest model called the Designo LS246H. The new monitor is designed to be as eco friendly as possible.

If you’re worried about the amount of energy your monitor is drawing, you’re probably nuts, since your PC draws ten times that, but if you must indulge your inner environmentalist, this line of displays from NEC should suffice. They’re LED-backlit, which I suspect accounts for all the savings. Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s the case.

Well this is no fun. If you’ve been patiently waiting for the Vizio HDTVs that bring Twiiter, Facebook, Netflix, and Yahoo into you living room, you’re going to have to wait a bit longer. Santa isn’t going to bring one this year.

Philips has just announced a new 9704 LED Pro line of televisions bound for the UK. The two sets promise a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a 200Hz refresh rate, and a 1-ms response time. Philips promises both models -- the 40-inch 40PFL9704 and the 46-inch 46PFL9704 -- are up to 50 percent more energy efficient than previous models, and both boast 5 HDMI ports.

I’ll make this quick. I’ve heard two or three independent sources saying that the new iMac’s screen is “better than HD.” Let’s examine that claim for a moment here. If HD is 1920×1080 and the iMac is 2560×1440, then yes, it is better than HD.
