Yeah… that’s definitely useful. I’ve got shaky hands because I drink too much coffee, so a pen with integrated ruler would be handy for all those… lines I draw. I expect I’ll be seeing these at Muji in a few months.

Ford revealed recently that they’ve had over 1,000 pre-orders placed online, using their new car-reservation site for the 2011 Ford Fiesta. The Fiesta has been available in the UK since last year, but this will be the first time in many years since there has been a new Fiesta in the US.

There’s a pretty interesting report that was just published today entitled “How much information?” It was put together by the Global Information Industry of the University of California at San Diego.

There you are, racing from Terminal A to Terminal Z so you can catch that flight home, which departs in exactly three minutes. You’ve got your carry-on bag trundling along beside you, and your trusty laptop bag thrown over one shoulder. Every step causes that thin pleather strap to slide a little farther down your shoulder, until *blam* your laptop bag drops to the floor, tripping you in a pile of shame and misery. You need the booq Tapian shadow.

Audi have struck a chord in us with this awesomely cool offering called the e-tron eelectric concept car. The vehicle surely brings along the slopes and bends that often define the exoskeleton of cars from the maker. With 3,320 lb-ft of torque, this car is surely a step above the puny eelectric cars and hybrids we’ve seen in the past. Surely, it is far from a consolation prize for those who seek solace in concepts that ‘may’ workout.

An Audi A8, by itself, can be construed as a show stopper, something that would make you stop what you’re doing and take notice. While the latest version the A8 that’s due out sometime next year is still an eye catcher, it’s the technology incorporated inside that has me excited. The A8’s original Multi Media Interface (MMI)set up which was originally a full function PMP slash GPS navigation system etc. has undergone an upgrade for the 2011 A8 edition.

Government Intelligence organisation GCHQ, which reports to foreign secretary David Miliband and works with MI5 and MI6, is to run an ad campaign within Xbox Live to attract quick-thinking 18-34-year-olds.

For all those techies out there feeling like it’s about time a little luck came your way, head on over to Luxurylaunches.com and check out the new HP Envy 13 laptop contest.

Own a Zune HD? Let me suggest you head over to the forums at AnythingButiPod and check out all the wallpapers. They are of course all formated for your device and most of them are killer.

Word on the street -- and by that we mean Reuters -- is that Tesla's looking to go public with the company "any day." The luxury electric car make, whose Roadster still goes for a cool $109,000, would be the first US auto company to offer an IPO since Ford way back in 1956, says MSNBC.

Looks like California approved the new energy standards for televisions. The Consumer Electronics Association is predictably upset, whinging on about “constraining” innovation and choice, while environmental groups are predictably thrilled. The state’s governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, hailed the decision, and said that it will make California a “world-leader” in “the fight against climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”

A while back I went to a fun overclocking event held by AMD, where there was a lot of vapor, some exploding burritos, and some overclocking that got tantalizingly close to 7GHz. It was just an arbitrary number, and they broke a bunch of other records, but they couldn’t quite hit that last target. But a few months and I can only guess how much liquid helium later, they nailed it.

Well, well. It looks like the Moon bombing went well as NASA just released a whole lot of data supporting the initial findings that there’s water on the Moon. Read NASA’s take and view a whole lot of line graphs I don’t understand at NASA.gov.

Well, I think we finally know what Asus does when they get a dead motherboard. They take it apart, and turn it into a picture! Behold the loveliness that is the Motherboard Mona Lisa, a model of PCI and AGP slot beauty and mystery.

This Mona Lisa isn’t on display in the Louvre, but rather the lobby of Asus’ corporate headquarters.

The Pandemic That Was Going to Kill Us All But Didn't is still alive, lurking to take you in a one-way trip across the Styx. Or a two-way trip to Snotland. Google Maps points the way to the nearest vaccine.

I wanted so badly to have a large, English-style, only-nose-out, soak-like-a-hippo bathtub in my new apartment. I settled for a large shower, but at 72 by 12 feet, maybe I should have rented the world's largest bathtub instead.

For the last couple of months, Google's been testing a new search architecture called Caffeine—a back-end upgrade, but one that changes the results in virtually any search. Today, Lifehacker gets word that Caffeine is ready to go live in Google proper.

Crutches. In a thousand years, their design hasn't fundamentally changed. And for something as minor as a sprained ankle or broken foot, the Freedom Leg looks like a welcome alternative.

We're so sorry, true NVIDIA believers, but that airbrushed "I love Fermi" shirt is just gonna have to wait a little longer to see the light of day, at least according to a report from our favorite chip-centric foreign news syndicate, Digitimes.

Mark showed you how Space Invaders really look like from the outside. Now it's time to get the scalpel and look for the three stomachs. For $18, you can play doctor too.
