Fujitsu and Japan's Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, known as RIKEN, recently announced that RIKEN has decided to employ a new system configuration with a scalar processing architecture for its next-generation supercomputer.
According to Fujitsu, the new supercomputer with a power of 10 petaflop will be developed by 2012, and will be used as an "advanced, high-performance, general-purpose supercomputer."
