1 MB broadband is a legal right in Finland

Posted by Dark Legion 10/20/2009

I so wish I lived in Finland! It’s surely hard to believe that a country could make a certain threshold bandwidth as a legal right for all its citizens. And this isn’t any small nation. With a population of 5 million,
it surely takes a lot of ‘balls’ for the government to take such a call. Hats off to them! This move seems to be inspired by the French, who have made Internet access as a legal right. Finland however, has taken it a step further by introducing 1 MB mark as the minimum for any Internet user. The country is a pretty good contributor to the IT world, or so it seems. It was said that the country would make 100 MB broadband access as a right by 2015.
