Update with what's going in Tech world.

Orange has standardised download speeds across a range of new home broadband packages allowing all subscribers to achieve speeds of 20Mbps regardless of the monthly contact they choose.

The network joins BT, O2, Be and Virgin as members of the 20-meg club, but Orange will surely be the cheapest with packages that achieve the top speed from just £6.50-a-month for Orange pay monthly mobile phone contracts.

The network has also cut the prices of its packages with the top Home Ultra deal costing £13.50-a-month, (or £10.50 for those on an Orange pay monthly mobile phone contract) with unlimited downloads added into the mix. Contracts are 18-months in length though.

Users will need to live in an Orange LLU broadband area, which currently covers 65 per cent of all UK homes.

Orange director of broadband and home Asif Aziz says: "We're really pleased to be making download speeds of up to 20 Meg available as standard, regardless of the home broadband package a customer chooses." "With these faster speeds, built around price plans which really do offer value for money - customers can make the most of the internet and enjoy a faster and more seamless experience when going online."
