Facing delays, Nokia's "best browser device ever", the N900, will be going on sale by the end of the month in the UK, although some lucky customers who pre-ordered early will receive their devices this week, according to Nokia's President Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo.
The N900, which runs on the new Maemo 5 operating system, looks very similar to the N97, with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The QVGA touchscreen measures 3.5-inches in size, and there's a massive 32GB of internal storage. The camera is 5.0-megapixels, and internally, there's an ARM Cortex-A8 processor keeping things ticking over.
While an official launch date hasn't been confirmed by Nokia, online retailers have jumped straight in with their own SIM-free prices. eXpansys will sell the N900 for £499.99 (with £30 of eXpansys vouchers), promising customers will receive their phones in eight days' time. Play.com is undercutting them with their £469.99 offer, although the expected date of delivery is the 30th of November.
Omio is claiming BuyMobilePhones will sell the N900 for £30 a month on both Orange and O2, offering 600 minutes and 500 texts.
