Clamshell, large non-touchscreen display, multi colored are some of the essences of a Japanese phone. Sticking to the same lines is the Sony Ericsson Bravia phone U1. The USP of the phone is that it connects seamlessly with other Sony products like the PSP, PS3, Walkman, etc so you can easily transfer files to and fro from the phone and vice-versa.
The phone packs in a 3 inch display supporting a resolution of 480×854 pixels, an external 1.1 inch display, 5 megapixel camera with face and smile detection and a mobile Bravia engine for smooth and crisp video playback. The phone does not have onboard memory but has a Micro SD / SDHC card slot which can swallow a 16GB card. Other features include Bluetooth, Pedometer and the Japanese favorite Mobile TV. The U1 is waterproof and confirms to IPX5/IPX7 so you can use it while taking a shower and with the bathroom mode activated the phone automatically cuts off the water sounds from the background. It measures 111×50×16.7mm, weighs 141 grams and will be made available in three colors in Japan only.
